A collection of small, complimentary applications from Lucas Consultant Services LLC. Each download includes a guided installer — just run it, and it will set everything up for you, including a shortcut on your Desktop. An uninstaller is included as well, if you ever want to remove the program.
Dice Roll (for Microsoft Windows)
Fascinated by probability and random numbers? We are too. Our Dice Roll program is a simple app designed to simulate the rolling of either one or two dice, and includes an option for sound and a very simple animation of the roll. Designed years ago (when we were known as "Lucas Consulting Services") we offered this free-of-charge to schools for demonstrating the mathematical concepts behind this historic game of chance. At the time, we also provided teachers a sample lesson plan with exercises for students to record the outcomes of every roll, and then calculate averages and learn about the concepts of probability and prediction. We hope you enjoy the application!

Tic Tac Toe (for Microsoft Windows)
Almost all of us played this game as kids, sometimes with chalk on the sidewalk, on a napkin, or even on fogged-up glass in our station wagon. We wrote this app and offered it free-of-charge to classrooms years ago, when we were still known as "Lucas Consulting Services." We designed the program to allow for a two player game, or for a single user to play against the computer using a very simple form of Artificial Intelligence. As an exercise in understanding strategy and critical thinking, the app also allows the user to toggle a tool ON or OFF to show the order of each move for each player in real-time to better understand the path to winning each game. We think it's an entertaining and very old game that still provides an interesting challenge for all ages. We were told this was a classroom favorite. Enjoy!
